FedEx Pilots Signal Concern
MEMPHIS, Tenn.— Following FedEx’s fiscal year 2025 earnings call, FedEx pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), expressed concerns over operational risk posed by an outdated pilot agreement, lack of employee engagement and strategic misalignments with growth opportunities.
In a letter to analysts, union leader Capt. Jose Nieves said, “As FedEx accelerates its transformation strategy, outward financial projections may appear optimistic, but internal warning signs tell a different story. Chief among them is the sidelining of core personnel, particularly FedEx pilots—professionals who have long been central to FedEx’s operational success.”
Pilots claim unresolved labor issues compound operational risk in FedEx’s growth strategy. ALPA is calling on FedEx to resolve the pilot contract dispute expeditiously and leverage its strategic partnership to advance the interests of both parties to mutual benefit. According to Nieves, “We’ve enjoyed a synergistic relationship in the past and we look forward to closing a deal that reflects a beneficial future, together.”
