ALPA President Congratulates Newly Elected Canadian Government

McLean, Va. — Capt. Jason Ambrosi, president of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA), today issued the following statement following the Liberal Party of Canada's victory in securing a parliamentary majority:

"We look forward to continuing our work with Prime Minister Carney on ensuring a safe, secure, resilient, and pro-worker aviation system in Canada.  ALPA is proud to represent more than 95% of the professional pilots in Canada, and we remain ready to further strengthen the piloting profession while delivering safe and reliable air transportation.

“These elections come at a pivotal time for both our countries. For decades, we have had a collaborative relationship with Canadian federal officials and we look forward to continuing that partnership on the critical issues facing the aviation industry today, particularly in advancing aviation safety standards that protect flight crews and the traveling public.

“We remain committed to our motto of ‘Schedule with Safety’ and look forward to working with Canada's new government to ensure that aviation continues to connect people, communities, and economies safely and efficiently.”
