CHICAGO—Capt. Brian Noyes was elected as chair of the United Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The term runs through February 28, 2026.

Capt. Brian Noyes (United MEC Chair)

“I’m honored and grateful to have the chance to serve as your MEC Chair,” said Capt. Noyes. “Together, we’ll continue setting the bar for aviation safety, professionalism, and unity. I’m committed to representing and supporting this dedicated group of pilots—every step of the way.”

Capt. Noyes joined United Airlines in January 1995. He is currently a 787 Captain based in Houston, Texas. Capt. Noyes served ALPA in several roles including most recently as the UAL MEC Vice Chair. He also served as the ALPA-International Flight Time Duty Time Chair and as a member of the Reduced Crew Operations Committee, Co-Chair of the IFALPA Fatigue Management Working Group, the UAL MEC System Schedule Committee’s (SSC) FRMS Working Group Lead, an FAR 117 subject-matter expert, Preferential Bidding System (PBS) trainer, pairing production subcommittee member, and as a member of the Central Air Safety Committee (CASC) serving as the Chair of the Crew Rest Oversight Committee.

Today’s election creates a vacancy for MEC Vice Chair left behind by Capt. Noyes; that position will be filled during an MEC meeting next month.

Capt. Nic Harwood - MEC Secretary, and Capt. Andrew Minarcik - MEC Treasurer will continue to serve the remainder of the two-year term alongside Capt. Noyes.
