Air Canada Pilots to Sponsor Charity Giveaway During Canada’s Largest Ribfest
OTTAWA—The Air Canada pilots will celebrate Labour Day with their union, families, and friends at Canada’s Largest Ribfest in Burlington, Ont., at Spencer Smith Park. The Air Canada Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) will host a public giveaway at their tent, with all donations going to the Rotary Club and Dreams Take Flight charities.
“Air Canada pilots are proud to carry the maple leaf to all corners of this world, especially to reunite Canadians with their own families and loved ones. The life of a pilot is unique, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our own families,” said First Officer Charlene Hudy, chair of the Air Canada ALPA MEC.“It is important to take the time to applaud and celebrate our families, as well as bring our pilots together on Labour Day—a day dedicated to the hardworking members of our community. Unity among all pilots is our greatest strength, and today, Air Canada pilots across the nation are unified with a strong voice. We’re proud of our profession and take our jobs of transporting our passengers safely to their destinations very seriously. We look forward to standing together with our community to celebrate our contributions.”
With an annual attendance of approximately 180,000, Canada’s Largest Ribfest promises to be a feast for the senses, celebrating the best in BBQ, entertainment, and community spirit. This year's event, taking place September 1–4, is set to continue the tradition of bringing people together for a weekend filled with mouthwatering ribs, live music, and family-friendly activities. Attendees will have access to all the events in the park, including 20+ different bands booked to play over the weekend. Don't miss out on the smoky, saucy, and sensational experience that is Canada's Largest Ribfest.
