ALPA Applauds Whitaker Confirmation

WASHINGTON, DC—Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) president Capt. Jason Ambrosi issued the following statement after the United States Senate confirmed Michael Whitaker to lead the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):

“On behalf of the more than 75,000 pilots of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l, I’d like to congratulate Michael Whitaker on securing confirmation as the next administrator of the FAA. This is a critical moment for American aviation, and throughout his confirmation process, Michael has displayed a strong commitment to safety and the importance of having two highly trained pilots on the flight deck. I look forward to working with him to ensure that the FAA is prioritizing safety with every decision and maintaining our current lifesaving pilot-training requirements.”
