Capt. Gilles Boissonneault

Air Canada Capt. Gilles Boissonneault was elected to the position of Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) Canada vice president on Oct. 23, 2024, at ALPA’s biennial Board of Directors meeting, to fill a vacancy in the position. He began the remainder of the current four-year term on Jan. 1, 2025.
As ALPA Canada vice president, Capt. Boissonneault supports the ALPA Canada president in planning, coordinating, and administering the affairs and activities of ALPA Canada to further the objectives and policies of the Association. He also acts as the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations director of Canada, representing Canadian pilot interests before this global aviation agency of the United Nations.
Based in Winnipeg, MB, Capt. Boissonneault is an Airbus A320 pilot and previously served as the Air Canada pilots’ Local Executive Council (LEC) #252 chair/captain representative and secretary-treasurer. He was also a member of the Master Executive Council Training and Standards Committee and the LEC #252 Occupational Health and Safety Committee. During his tenure as an Air Canada Pilots Association member, Capt. Boissonneault acted as a member of the Nominating Committee and a base councilor in Winnipeg.
After earning his pilot license from Winnipeg Aviation based at the Winnipeg/St. Andrews Airport, he flew for Perimeter Aviation in 2004 before transitioning to Air Canada as a pilot in 2007. During his downtime, Capt. Boissonneault enjoys traveling and playing golf with his wife.
